ABOUT US
Cancer and Capricorn is an indie rock band based in San Francisco, headed by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Charles Kieser (he / him / they / them). Their influences span the history of rock and pop, from Stevie Wonder and the Byrds to Low and Japanese Breakfast. They find it's easiest to express themselves with "retro" sounds, though they try not to shut themselves off from modern trends.

For Charles, music is the medium in which he feels most free to be himself, the best way to share deeply-held thoughts and feelings that are awkward to say in casual conversation. That doesn't mean every song is about their own personal life. That said, they'd be very happy to discuss their music with you, and they're always curious to hear what the fans think the songs are about.

Who else in the band? Whoever happens to be in the room with Charles at the time, whether they're a musician or not. More recently, they've been known to play with Felix Portillo and Grant Sherrod of Deadringer, Miguel Angel Muñoz of Shark Punch, Aleksi Arostegui of Curcio, and Alejandro Amezquita of Giveaway, all of whom appear on their latest record.
